Community question: San Diego activities for vacation with 10 month old baby and 4 year old?

by Shelly Rivoli

I’m trying something new today! I know there are a lot of you with QUESTIONS as well as great tips and advice to share amongst yourselves, and since Facebook began limiting how many page followers (likers) actually see what gets posted there, I’m excited about this new option of embedding YOUR questions right here in posts to go out to subscribers, and give you the chance to get quick answers or ask quick questions still using your Facebook logins, and if you don’t use Facebook, you can simply add a comment below the post (and you know your hidden email is always safe with me).

What do you think? Let’s give it a try!

Here’s a fresh question from a mom planning a San Diego family vacation with a baby and a 4-year-old child:

I’ll include some links here to some San Diego family vacation tips on the Travels with Baby website, too:

Thanks so much to everyone who shares their wisdom with others in our community!

Safe journeys,

I live in SD with a 2-year-old…here are the things we love:

– zoo
– carousel and train outside of the zoo are only open on Saturday and Sunday
– there is a balboa park pass that lets you into all the museums – some fun ones are science, railroad museum (closed on Mondays), museum of natural history, and air and space museum (can you tell we have a boy).
– there is a puppet theatre in balboa park that’s pretty cool
– the new children’s museum is awesome
– a great restaurant to go to that makes you feel like you are actually out like a real life human adult but has a cool play area is The Station in South Park
– seaworld
– we love riding bikes with our son – you can probably rent bikes with seats for your kiddos and ride around the beach
– all the beaches are great
– if you go to the Safari wild animal park, I have been told its a waste of time if your child can’t sit in a bus type thing for some time – so it isn’t time for us, but probably good for a 4 year old).

I don’t know if anything is a waste of time – that wouldn’t be an obvious waste 🙂 have a wonderful time!!
