Seven things you can do this week to streamline holiday travel with your baby

by Shelly Rivoli

I know, there’s enough going on already this week! But if you’ll be traveling during the next couple of weeks, here are things you can do in the next couple of days that you’re sure to thank yourself for later.

1. Stop mail without stopping by the Post Office by visiting USPS.com (more here).

2. Send an Amazon shipment of diapers, your child’s favorite snacks, and supplies to meet you at your relative’s home.

3. While you’re online, pick out a thoughtful hostess gift (e.g. ear plugs, cord-shortening outlet covers, and chocolates) to include.

4. Decide what you and your child(ren) will wear during travel now.

5. Update your child’s travel kit (more in Chapter 3 of Travels with Baby) – and 311 it for carry-on if you’ll be flying.

6. Pack an extra nightlight and small flashlight now (still loving my Beam ‘N Read!) as they are too easily forgotten in the hubbub of last-minute laundry.

7. Get your copy of the new Take-Along Travels with Baby in time to take it with you (take a look at the Table of Contents and you’ll see why you don’t want to leave home without it).

What happened to 8, 9, and 10? Like I said, I know there’s enough going on this week!

How about you?
What else will you be doing to prepare for holiday travel this year? Do you have a sanity-saving holiday travel tip to share?

Safe journeys,

Yes, but mostly in the books so far! (Thanks for the suggestion.) If you have Travels with Baby – there are some good product recommedations and tips for planning ahead. In Take-Along Travels with Baby, there are tips to help along the way. Cheers!

Thanks for the great tips! Have you ever done any posts on traveling with a potty training child? I've been looking for good tips and/or products but there's not a lot out there.
