Twelve Weeks of “Awesome” Fun for a Cause in San Francisco
Heads up to my Bay Area friends and those of you who will be visiting our City by the Bay between now and May 30th!
Red Tricycle (sponsor of this post-thank you!) has partnered with some of the Bay Area’s “awesomest” family attractions and activity suppliers (seriously, I’m drooling after reading over them all) to line up 12 unique opportunities for your crew to make serious memories—and to give to a good cause at the same time.
How “awesome” are these adventures? Here are a few of my favorites they’re featuring:
A kayaking quest to find sea lions at Sausalito – It’s an easy-going guided trip for families with kayakers 5 years and older on the Bay Area’s calmest water. A light lunch is provided before you paddle off.
An Under-the-Sea Sleepover at the Monterey Bay Aquarium – You’ll not only get to explore the aquarium after the crowds have left, but you’ll get to sleep next to your favorite exhibit (now that could be a tough decision!). Includes breakfast and admission for the following day.
A slumber party beneath the stars at Chabot Space & Science Center – including a show in the 70-foot dome planetarium, a scavenger hunt, the chance for a private telescope viewing, and breakfast in the morning.
A date night at the DeYoung Museum in Golden Gate Park – This one actually includes over an hour of childcare (with special kids’ activities) along with admission for the whole family for the Friday evening events, two glasses of wine to sip as you stroll the exhibits with your best grown-up friend, and admission for the two of you to the Botticelli to Braque: Masters from the National Gallery of Scotland exhibit.
And that’s just some of the fun to be had between now and summer break! Follow this link to see all of the Twelve Weeks of Awesome events at Red Tricycle: http://redtri.co/1I7uC7D (sponsored).
For every purchase, Red Tricycle will donate $1 to Kaboom!, the national nonprofit bringing balanced and active play into the daily lives of kids across America, particularly those growing up in poverty. Some friends of mine worked very hard to win a Kaboom! playground right here in the Bay Area, and it has become an incredibly bright, cheerful, and playful center in their Richmond neighborhood. Let’s hear it for the power of play!
There are still spaces left for this weekend’s event, which is the Saturday night Under-the-Sea Sleepover at Monterey Bay Aquarium—but one event has already sold out, so don’t dilly-dally! Need that link again? Here you go: http://redtri.co/1I7uC7D. Have fun!
