Best Deals Going: $9 flights between Bay Area & Long Beach
Heads up Bay Area and L.A. readers! Today only Jet Blue is selling flights on the following dates for only $9 each way between San Francisco or Oakland and Long Beach:
April 27/28, May 4/5, May 11/12 and May 18/19.
Those are all Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but with everybody getting their first checked suitcase free, it’s well worth considering ditching work or school for this deal (IMHO).
Since you might want to stay more than a day or less than a week, consider flying home on a Saturday to get airfare from $49 on your return. For a family of 4 ticketed passengers, this is what it looks like for the Saturday return with taxes:
• Fare: $53.95 x 4 = $215.80
• Taxes & Fees $101.80
• Total: $317.60
You’ve got to book by midnight tonight on the JetBlue.com site, so here are some tips to help you think fast.
Fly South:
SF Bay Area readers can land in Long Beach and hit the beach and one of our favorite all-time aquariums (petting sharks and sting rays, anyone?!), not to mention you’re right next to Anaheim for anyone who wants to hit Disneyland before the high season. More tips in my Living Large in Long Beach post.
Fly North:
Or L.A. readers can bounce up to the Bay Area and take advantage of some of the many Cheap and Free San Francisco activities I’ve been blogging about, catch the KFOG Kaboom fireworks (Saturday 5/22), or ferry out to Angel Island during what is typically some of the best San Francisco weather of the year.
If you want to make the most of your SoCal jaunt, consider adding San Diego to the trip. Here are my Tips for Stretching your Family Vacation Dollars in San Diego.
Giveaway in Progress! And on that note, don’t be crazy, enter to win my 2-night giveaway in San Diego, breakfasts included and possibly dinners, at the Homewood Suites Liberty Station, located right on the esplanade and minutes to all the favorite San Diego family attractions.
Safe journey,
